whether和if的差異

whether表示兩種情況都真實，是什麽還是，或者，不管。if與will或would連用，表示客氣地請求，不確定的情況。
二、側重點不同
whether可引導表語從句，if則不能。whether可用在介詞之後，引導賓語從句，而If則不能。
Whether和if在從句中的使用方法
1、在動詞不定式之前只能用whether。
例子：I can?t decide whether to stay.我不能決定是否留下。
2、if引導賓語從句：I don't know if he will come to help us or not；if引導條件狀語從句：You will do better if you are more careful；if引導其他狀語從句，構成固定短語搭配。
3、在介詞後,只能用whether。
例子：His father is worried about whether he lose his work.他的父親擔心是否會失去工作。
4、賓語從句放在句首表示強調時,只能用whether。Whether they can finish the work on time is still a problem.他們是否能準時完成這項工作還是個問題。
