本品含萬壽菊素(patuletin)，槲皮萬壽菊素(quercetagetin)，萬幫菊甙(patulitrin)，槲皮萬壽菊甙(quercetagitrin)，α-三聯噻吩(α-terthienyl) ,Z-羅勒烯酮(Z-ocimenone)，E-羅勒烯酮(E-locimenone)，檸檬烯(limonene)，β丁香烯(β-caryophyllene)，萬壽菊酮(tagetone)，辣薄荷酮(piperitone)和辣薄荷烯酮(piperitenone)。
花中含萬壽菊素及其甙和槲皮萬壽菊素，土木香腦(helenine)，堆心菊素(helenien)，玉紅色素(rubichrome)，堇黃質(violaxanthin)等色素及別萬壽菊素(allopauletin)。
根中含α-三聯噻吩。須根含5-(4-乙酰氧基-1-丁炔基)-2，2-聯噻吩[5-(4-acetoxy-1-butynyl)-2-2-bithiophene]，5-(1-丁烯基)-2，2-聯噻吩[5-(1-buten-1-yl)-2,2-bithiophene]，異蘭草素(isoeuparin)。
