accept, receive, admit, take
這些動詞均有“接受，接納”之意。
accept：強調主動地或自願地接受，或者說，經過考慮後同意接受。
receive：著重僅僅接到或收到這壹支輪船或事實，而不含采取主動或積極行動的意思。
admit：作"接受"講時，強調準許或批準。
take：與receive同意，是receive的日常用法，側重不帶主觀意願地收下或接受。
acknowledge, admit, confess, recognize, concede
這些動詞均含“承認”之意。
acknowledge：通常指公開承認某事的真實情況或自己的過錯。
admit：強調因外力或良心驅使或經判斷而明確承認，多含不情願或被迫意味。
confess：語氣較強，著重承認自己意識到的錯誤或罪行，含坦白懺悔的意味。
recognize：作"承認"解時，系書面用詞，主要指合法的或外交上的承認，也指公認。
concede：指在事實與證據面前勉強或不得不承認
