創作背景
《Radioactive》由夢想之龍樂隊與制作人Alex Da Kid等人***同創作。在樂隊準備伴奏樂器時，主唱丹·雷諾斯開始譜寫樂曲的旋律和歌詞。他們從和弦和旋律等基礎方面開始錄制，並在洛杉磯的Westlake Audio錄音室錄制完成了歌曲。
樂隊主唱丹·雷諾斯表示，歌曲引用了與“啟示”相關聯的詞匯，但其所表達的含義並非僅停留在字面層次，是首關於振作、變得能夠自我掌控，也是首關於他本人與抑郁、焦慮鬥爭的歌曲 。
而混音版（與肯德裏克·拉馬爾合作）的說唱取自拉馬爾的歌曲《m.A.A.d City》。
