開篇便是帥到有點木訥的馬修·麥康納，步入酒吧，壹杯上好的啤酒配上壹個鹵雞蛋（看著有點像），壹副把電影當啤酒廣告拍得架勢。伴隨著電影級的啤酒廣告，點唱機裏緩緩響起了這首Cumberland Gap。這時突然“砰”地壹聲槍響，血濺啤酒杯，把觀眾從廣告拉回電影。電影也便伴著歌曲拉開了序幕。
這開篇，這歌曲，小朋友在油管上已刷了n遍。歌曲Cumberland Gap有多個版本，影片中用的這個版本是2017年David Rawlings曾獲得葛萊美獎最佳美洲地方歌曲提名的版本。
Cumberland Gap可以譯作坎伯蘭峽，借用壹張google地圖的照片：
坎伯蘭峽谷，位於肯塔基州、弗吉尼亞州和田納西州三州之間。在美國殖民歷史中是重要的壹個關鍵通道，打開東方通往西方殖民之路的關鍵之壹。現在屬於坎伯蘭國家歷史公園（Cumberland Gap National Historical Park）中。
在這首歌裏，歌詞是講述主角要去穿越坎伯蘭峽谷進入西部。對應劇情上也就是指Mickey這個美國人要打入英國紳士圈的部分。如果把這首歌當作Cherokee少女和John的戀愛故事，這與影片中Mickey和Rosalind的戀愛故事也暗合。
