in the future:the time that will come after the present or the events that will happen then:在將來、未來
例：No one can foresee what will happen in the future.沒人能預見將來會發生什麽事.
1.in future ＝ from now on 意為“今後,以後”,常指離現在較近的壹段將來時間.強調與過去相對照,過去是什麽情況,今後將是什麽情況.
如：Don't do that in future．以後別再幹那種事了.
You'd better not go out alone in future．今後最好別單獨外出.

2.in the future ＝in time yet to come 意為“將來”,常指包括in future在內的較遠
的將來壹段時間.in the near future指“在不久的將來”.如：
Who knows what will happen in the future 誰知道將來會發生什麽事?

我敢肯定在不久的將來他會慢慢明白這壹點的.
3.for the future常意為“為將來”.如：
It is necessary to plan for the future．對未來進行規劃是必要的.
註in future常指將來某壹時間,in the future常指全部的將來,在日常英語中,有時這兩個短語的區別並不十分明顯.
