surrounding與environment的區別

兩者均可表示周圍的“環境”，但前者主要指人周圍具體的( 物質的)東西，而後者雖然也可指周圍具體的東西，但它更強調這些周圍的東西對人的心情、情感、品德、思想等的影響( 即強調精神方面的因素)。使用時，前者總是用復數形式，而後者通常用單數形式。如：It’s good to change one’s surroundings occasionally. 人偶爾改變壹下環境是有好處的。We must protect the environment from pollution. 我們壹定要保護好(自然)環境不受汙染。A happy family provides a loving environment for its children. 幸福的家庭給孩子們提供相親相愛的環境。比較:He grew up in beautiful surroundings. 他在風景秀麗的環境中長大。He grew up in a happy environment. 他在幸福愉快的環境中長大。
