意指令人惋惜的事，令人遺憾的事
例：What a shame they couldn't come. 他們不能來了，真是遺憾。
此外shame的確有羞愧，慚愧，或是恥辱丟臉的意思..
1) His face burned with shame. 他的臉因慚愧而發燙 （慚愧）
2）Have you no shame?妳就不知羞恥嗎？ （羞恥心）
3）She felt that her failure would bring shame on her family. 她覺得她的失敗會使家人蒙羞 （恥辱）
