4. 壹般現在時的forget後可直接跟動名詞表示忘記做過某事，但壹般過去時的forgot後接動名詞時，則通常會先接介詞about（有時也有不用about的）。如：

5. 口語中說 forget (about) it 有以下用法：
① 用於回答感謝，意為“不客氣”。如：
A：Thank you very much for your help. 多謝妳的幫助。
B：Forget about it. 不用謝。
② 用於回答道歉，意為“沒關系”。如：
A：I’m sorry for what I said. 我為我所說的話道歉。
B：Forget it! I don’t remember anyway. 沒關系，反正我也沒有記住。
③ 用於表示否定或拒絕，意為“不行”。如：
A：I’ll take the small truck. 我要開那輛小卡車。
B：And leave me to drive the other one? Forget it. 啊，讓我開另外那輛? 不行不行。
④ 用於表示不想提及某情況或指某情況無關緊要等。如：
A：How much do I owe you? 我欠妳多少錢?
B：Forget it! 算了吧!
