Story 1 Three Good Friends
One day, a monkey rides his bike near the river. This time he sees a lion under a tree. The lion runs at him. He is afraid and falls into the river. He can’t swim. He shouts. The rabbit hears him. He jumps into the river. The rabbit swims to the monkey, but he can’t help him. Luckily, an elephant comes along. He is very strong. He helps the rabbit and monkey. Three friends are very happy. They go to the elephant’s home. Then, three of them become good friends.

壹天，壹只猴子在河邊騎車。這時他看見樹下有壹只獅子，獅子向他跑來。他非常的害怕，掉進河裏。他不會遊泳，大叫起來。兔子聽見了，跳進水裏，但他卻沒有辦法救猴子。幸運的是，壹只大象過來了。大象非常強壯，救出了兔子和猴子。他們來到大象的家，在那裏吃了壹頓大餐。從此他們成了好朋友。
英語寓言小故事二：病人和船主
He turned to the patient:“But you were in the wrong when you took the boat without asking the owner's permission.You were in the right because you were not so lazy as he was and you did not want to let the moonlit night go by without making some use of it.”
中文：他又轉向那位病人說：“但是，妳未征得船主的許可便動用了他的船，在這點上妳是不對的。妳也有對的壹面，因為妳不像他那樣懶惰，妳不想讓這月夜白白溜走而不去利用它。”

Story1 The Hippo and I
A hippo lives in the zoo. I like him very much. I often go to see him. He often thinks of me, too. Today is Sunday. It is fine day. I go to see him again. After I leave the zoo, he follows me to my house. I give him lettuce, cabbages, bananas, apples and other food. He eats them up. When I sing songs, he stays in the pool. He is as quite as a rabbit.
In the evening, he jumps onto my bed with me. My mum tells him to go home. He has to pack his bag and go back to the zoo. My mum lets me see him every week.

河馬住在動物園裏，我很喜歡他。他經常去看它，他也經常想我。
今天是星期日，是個好天氣，我又壹次去看望它。在我離開動物園之後，他跟隨到我的家。我給他萵苣、生菜、香蕉、蘋果和其他食物。他都吃了。
當我唱歌是，它待在水池裏，像兔子壹樣安靜。
晚上，他跳到床上同我睡覺在壹起睡。
媽媽要它回家。它不得不背起包回到動物園。媽媽允許我每周去看它。
英語寓言小故事四：刻舟求劍
Making His Mark 刻舟求劍
A man from the state of Chu was taking a boat across a river when he dropped his sword into the water carelessly. Immediately he made a mark on the side of the boat where the sword dropped, hoping to find it later. When the boat stopped moving, he went into the water to search for his sword at the place where he had marked the boat. As we know, the boat had moved but the sword had not. Isn't this a very foolish way to look for a sword?
中文：楚國有個人坐船渡江時，他不小心把自己的壹把寶劍掉落江中。他馬上掏出壹把小刀，在寶劍落水的船舷上刻上壹個記號。船靠岸後，那楚人立即從船上刻記號的地方跳下水去撈取掉落的寶劍。他怎麽找得到寶劍呢?船繼續行駛，而寶劍卻不會再移動。像他這樣去找劍，真是太愚蠢可笑了。
英語寓言小故事五：畫蛇添足
Draw a Snake and Add Feet to It 畫蛇添足
Long long ago, several people had a jar of wine among them and all of them wanted to drink it by himself. So they set a rule that every one would draw a snake on the ground and the man who finished first would have the wine. One man finished his snake very soon and he was about to drink the wine when he saw the others were still busy drawing, so he decided to draw the feet to the snake. However, before he could finish the feet, another man finished and grabbed the jar from him, saying, "Who has ever seen a snake with feet?" The story of "Draw a snake and add feet to It." tells us going too far is as bad as not going far enough.
中文：古時幾個人分壹壺酒。他們都想獨自喝完那壺酒，所以就定了壹個規矩：每人在地上畫壹條蛇，誰畫得最快，這壺酒就歸誰。有壹個人很快就把蛇畫好了。他正打算喝這壺酒時，看見別人都還在忙著畫，就決定給蛇再畫上幾只腳。結果，他的蛇腳還沒加完，另壹個人已經把蛇畫好了。那人壹下把酒壺奪了過去，說："有誰見過長腳的蛇?"。這個故事告訴我們這樣的道理：做得過分和做得不夠都是不對的。
