no和not都表示否定，但含義和使用場合不同。
no和not的用法區別如下：
1.not意為“不”，是副詞，表示否定，用來修飾動詞、形容詞、副詞、、連詞等。
Not surprisingly,we missed train.（NOT No surprisingly,...)壹點兒也不吃驚，我們錯過了火車。
The students went on strike,but not the teachers.（NOT...but no the teachers.） 學生們，而不是老師們，繼續罷工。
I can see you tomorrow,but not on Thursday.我明天可以看到妳，不是星期四。
I have not received his answer。我還沒有收到妳的回復。
2.no意為“沒有”，是形容詞，常位於名詞前，用來否定這個名詞。有時no否定名詞時，可理解為這個名詞的反義詞，意思是“並非”。
There is no tea in the cup.杯子裏沒有茶。
3.no放在名詞前面， 可以表示not any/not a的意思，因此凡是和any或a 搭配的名詞、動名詞、形容詞或副詞，都可與no 搭配使用。
No teachers went on strike.（=There were not any teachers on strike.）沒有老師在繼續罷工。
I‘ve got no Thursadys free this term.（=...not any Thursdays...)我這個學期星期四都沒有空。
I telephoned,but there was no answer.(=...not an answer.)我打電話了，但是那裏沒有人回應.
4.有時候"動詞+not“和”no+名詞"意義相同。如：
There wasn't an answer.=There was no answer.那裏沒有回應。
