do you know, 妳在尋求某個信息，妳需要別人給妳答案。
did you know, 妳知道這個信息或者答案，妳想告訴別人，或者是妳絕對不會知道的意思，和過去式，現在時態 沒有關系。兩種意思。
do you know where the restroom is? 妳問廁所在哪裏
did you know where the restroom was？妳在看別人是否知道，妳準備告訴他在哪裏。或者暗示妳絕對想象不到這裏的廁所在哪裏。
時態/情態用來表達特殊的含義，和真正的“時間”沒有關系，比如
i think, i thought, i would think, i would have thought, 其實都是說“i think”，隱藏含義上有區別。
