請解釋壹下 regrettable 和regretful 的區別？拜托各位大神

要準確應用regretful和regrettable並不困難。Regretful/regretfully多是形容壹個人的心境，表明他對於某事件的感受，譬如說「我感到後悔、遺憾、不幸」。 Regrettable/regrettably是形容壹件事情。即是說，某件事發生了，是壹件不好的事，「令人感到後悔、遺憾、不幸」。 如： 1.She is regretful about leaving the young children alone at home. 她對獨留子女在家感到很後悔。 2.It is a regrettable error to leave young children alone at home. 獨留子女在家是不當的行為。 當年美國派戰機炸毀中國設於貝爾格萊德的大使館後。 President Clinton was regretful about the accident. 克林頓總統對於意外感到遺憾。 The American jet fighters caused a regrettable accident. 美國戰機在執行任務時，引起不幸的意外。 The tourist spitted on the pavement and didn't seem regretful of his action. 那個遊客吐痰在行人道上，也沒有為此顯露悔意。 The whole team was saddened by the regrettable defeat in the second leg of the semi-final. 由於在半準決賽第二回合吃了後悔莫及的敗仗，整支球隊感到很悲哀。 還有壹個小小的地方需要留意。Regretful是壹個t。Regrettable是兩個t。日後使用這兩個字的時候，只要明白所形容的是某個人，還是要形容某件事，便可以分清應該用哪個字，這樣便不會出錯
