1、prevalent 流行的；普遍的，廣傳的。
2、popular 流行的，通俗的；受歡迎的；大眾的；普及的。
二、強調的重點不同
1、prevalent 強調流行、盛行、風靡壹時。如：
This condition is more prevalent in women than in men.
這種情況在女性中比在男性中更為普遍。
2、popular 強調受歡迎程度比較高。
Chocolate sauce is always popular with youngsters.
巧克力醬總是受年輕人喜愛。
三、用法不同
1、prevalent 用於表示流行的、普遍存在的狀態。如：
Schistomiosis, which is a worm that lives in river waters, causes terrible diseases that are still prevalent?in many parts of the world.
血吸蟲，是壹種生存在河水中的蠕蟲，可以引起嚴重疾病，並仍在世界上眾多地區廣泛流行。
2、popular 用於表示受歡迎的、受青睞的。如：
He remained the most popular politician in Arkansas.
他仍是阿肯色州最廣受喜愛的政治家。
