Somepeopleseemtoalwaysmaketherightchoices.Itseemslike“luck”smilesonthem.SteveJobs,nowoneoftherichestpeopleintheworld,feelsthatwemakeourownluckbypayingattentiontoourfeelings.In1972,SteveenrolledinReedCollege(裏德學院),buthesoonrealizedthatallhisworkingparents’savingswerebeingspentonhiscollegetuition,whichwasveryexpensive.Andhe“couldn’tseethevalueinit.”Sohedecidedtodropout.Stillwantingtolearn,hescrapedtogetherenoughmoneytotaketheclassesthatreallyinterestedhim.Hefollowedhiscuriosityandintuition.Hisdecisiontotakeacalligraphyclass,wherehelearnedallaboutthebeautyofletters,turnedouttobepricelesslateron.“IfIhadneverdroppedinonthatsinglecourseincollege...personalcomputersmightnothavethewonderfultypographythattheydo.”

Youmaynotknowhowsomethingyou’redoingnowwillaffectyourfuture,butifitfeelsinterestingorimportant,itprobablyis.Successisn’taboutbeinglucky.It’saboutbeingpreparedandthenpayingattentionwhenopportunitiesarise.
