WATER RESEARCH,1997,31 (3): 607-613 他針對難降解工業廢水處理難題,引入了產酸發酵微生物生理生態學理論,建立了廢水處理產酸發酵類型的人工控制方法,提出了完全氧化型硫酸鹽廢水處理新工藝。此項研究曾兩次獲得國家自然科學基金委資助。該研究成果獲中科院專著出版基金資助,擬出版專著1部。該研究成果針對難降解有機廢水的水質特征,將產酸發酵微生物生理生態學研究成果應用於4項建設部科技成果重點推廣項目示範工程。他結合中國國情開發出3套適合中國國情高效、經濟、節能的高濃度廢水生物處理集成化技術,建立了相應的專有技術推廣平臺和設備加工制造平臺,並應用於15項示範工程,該技術獲國家科技進步二等獎和建設部華廈科技進步壹等獎。該集成化技術攻克了印染、制藥、化工、發酵等行業排放的廢水處理投資和運行費用高、處理效率低、運行不穩定等亟待解決的難題。已在淮河、太湖、遼河和松花江等流域建立起15項高濃度有機廢水生物處理工程,工程累計投資約1.85億元。該成果獲得國家科技進步二等獎。
