歌曲賞析
歌詞裏歌頌的生命萬歲是指自由的意思，生命不是單純活著，而是自由的有意義的活著。歌名是西班牙語，也是壹句名句。
從歌詞中可看出，這首歌寫的人物是路易十六，其背景是法國大革命前後。“Revolutionaries wait for my head on a silver plate”這句歌詞可以明顯看出，還有壹句形容法國大革命的那股革命風暴的就是“It was a wicked and wild wind”。該段最後壹句“Oh who would ever want to be king?”，我想算得上是對路易十六的同情吧。
雖說路易十六和瑪麗王後毫不在乎法國人民的生活，對政治的漠不關心很不負責任，但我覺得這更像是命運和他們玩了壹個遊戲，而且他們輸了。
瑪麗並不像維多利亞壹樣那麽靈敏，她更像壹個鄰家女孩。若她不是生來的公主，那麽她很有可能過著美好的生活，活潑待人真誠熱情的她會受到人們的喜愛。但是命運無情的把她塞入壹個公主的身份裏，讓她成為王後。
她不懂政治，她看不透她身邊的人是為什麽和她親近，她是壹個輕而易舉就能被人利用，過後還全然不知發生過了什麽的女孩，她怎麽能當王後？她不知道王後是什麽，只知道當上了王後就可以享受榮華富貴，沒有人告訴過她王後的責任是什麽。
路易十六也不是壹個當國王的料，反而是他的那些可怕的兄弟更適合當國王（真不知道他這個王位怎麽混來的！）。不可不承認，他的確是壹個好丈夫，他總是毫無怨言地為瑪麗償還巨額債務，如果他是壹個普通人，人們談論的則是他對瑪麗的好，而不是他的笨拙。
我們是否想起了“千古詞帝”唐後主李煜，“木匠皇帝”明熹宗朱由校？
春花秋月何時了？往事知多少！小樓昨夜又東風，故國不堪回首月明中。

歷史本也就是相通的。
從viva la vida的歌詞中我們也能體會到作者所描寫的路易十六的無奈與淒涼，這樣的情感與李煜的虞美人或多或少有些相同吧。
就像《斷頭王後》的作者斯蒂芬茨威格所說的：
“他們都不過是平凡的普通人，他們既不殘忍也不邪惡。相反，與大多數人壹樣，有著和善友好的基本品質。生於壹個平凡時代，他們或許還是能受到人們的普遍尊敬。可悲的是，他們都不具備應付動蕩混亂的傑出能力，在戲劇化的歷史中頑強堅定地活著。他們註定只能不平凡的死去。”
