比較級和最高級的變化規則如下：
壹般情況下，直接在形容詞後加er或est；以不發音的e結尾的形容詞，直接在其後加r或st；結尾只有壹個元音字母和壹個輔音字母的，雙寫最後的壹個輔音字母，再加er或est；以“輔音字母+y”結尾的形容詞，變y為i再加er或est；兩個或兩個以上的形容詞，比較級前加more，最高級前面加most。
