《The Rose》是由Amanda McBroom創作於1978年，由Bette Midler在其領銜主演的《The Rose》(歌聲淚痕)中作為片尾曲首唱，Amanda特別為她配的合聲。
影片推出後，獲得了很高的評價，讓Bette Midler奪得了該年度「最佳流行樂女歌手」的格萊美獎，另外，由於演技精湛，她不僅被提名角逐奧斯卡，更奪得「最佳女演員」和「年度最佳新人」等兩座金球獎。
《The Rose》這首感人至深的歌曲多年來始終深受喜愛，除在1979年的電影《The Rose》(歌聲淚痕)中作為主題曲，由Bette Midler首唱發行，並奪得了白金單曲外。影片《Napoleon Dynamite》（大人物拿破侖）(2004)也使用了此曲，此外高畑勛的作品《おもひでぽろぽろ》（歲月的童話）(1989)的片尾曲“愛は花、君はその種子”亦是由這首歌曲改編的，由はるみ(北村春美)演唱。
