簡稱國際網聯,1913年在法國巳黎成立。現有協會會員191個。其中119個為正式會員,72個為無表決權的聯系會員。
國際網聯的正式用語為英語、法語和西班牙語,在文本有歧義時,以英語為準。
從1896年到1924年,網球為奧運會的比賽項目。此後,國際網聯因運動員參賽資格問題而與國際奧委會發生沖突,網球不再是奧運會項目,直到1988年才重新進入奧運會。
國際網聯的任務是制定、修改和實施網球規則,在各級水平上促進全世界網球運動的發展,在國際上維護網球運動的利益,促進和鼓勵網球的教學,為國際賽事制定和實施規則,裁定國際網聯認可的正式網球錦標賽,增強協會會員的影響力,維護聯合會的獨立,確定運動員的資格,管理業余、職業及業余壹職業混和型比賽,合理使用聯合會的資金,維護網球界的團結及監督這些規則的實行等。
協會會員擁有的表決票數不同,分為1、3、5、7、9和12票6個等級,握有最高表決票數12票的有澳大利亞、英國、法國、美國、德國***5國。
所有協會會員出席的全會是國際網聯的最高權力機構,每年壹次。有7票以上表決權的協會可派3人出席,其余均為2人。在全會閉幕期間,由管理委員會負責處理國際網聯的壹切事務。管理委員會由主席和12名委員組成,其中3人分別來自擁有表決票最多的協會,此外,至少亞洲1人,南美1人,非洲1人,巴拿馬運河以北2人,歐洲2人。管理委員會由全會選舉產生,每兩年壹次,可連選連任。管理委員會可設立專門委員會,並賦予其自己的部分權力。
國際網聯現有的專門委員會有奧林匹克委員會、青少年競賽委員會、老運動員委員會、技術委員會、網球規則委員會、國際網聯規則委員會、財務委員會、醫務委員會、大眾傳媒委員會和教練委員會。
國際網聯的正式團體賽有:戴維斯杯(男子團體)、聯合會杯(女子團體)、NEC世界青年杯(16歲以下男女少年)、NTT世界少年網球賽(14歲以下男女少年),以及針對不同年齡組的意大利杯、杜布萊爾杯、奧地利杯、不列顛杯、克洛福德杯等。還有分別為40歲和50歲婦女舉辦的青年杯和布耶諾杯等。國際網聯的正式錦標賽有：大不列顛草地網球錦標賽、美國公開賽、法國公開賽、澳大利亞公開賽、日本公開賽、意大利錦標賽、國際網聯老將世界錦標賽等。
中國網協於1981年7月加入國際網聯。

About the ITF

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) is the world governing body of tennis, one of the few truly global sports. The objective of the ITF is to further grow and develop the sport worldwide, to develop the game at all levels at all ages for both able-bodied and disabled men and women, to make, amend and uphold the rules of the game, to promote the International Team Championships and competitions of the ITF, to preserve the integrity and independence of tennis as a sport, and to perform all without discrimination on grounds of colour, race, nationality, ethnic or national origin, age, sex or religion.
The ITF has 205 member National Associations - more than most other international sporting federations. Member nations come from every continent, and each association is involved in organising tennis and promoting the interests of the game.
