1、the other 指兩個中的“另壹個。指兩個人或物中的壹個時，只能用the other，不能用another，此時的other作代詞。
如： He has two daughters. One is a nurse, the other is a worker.
他有兩個女兒，壹個是護士，另壹個是工人。
另，the other後可加單數名詞，也可加復數名詞，此時的other作形容詞。
例如：
Mary is much taller than the other girls.
瑪麗比其他的女孩高得多。
2、others 泛指“另外的人或物”，是other的復數形式， 但不指其余的人或物的全部。句中可作主語、賓語。
如：Some of us like singing and dancing, others go in for sports.
我們壹些人喜歡唱歌和跳舞，其余的從事體育活動。
You should take care of others(other people)；
