英文片語 – 與OUT OF有關的英文片語

英文中有許多介系詞常出現於句子中或是片語裏，常常讓人搞不清楚到些那些情況下要用什麽語意解釋這些字。因此，engVid的Rebecca講師整理了以下幾組常見的Out of片語，要來幫大家厘清各種狀況下這些片語的用法啦！

1. Out of ______ = No _______ left

第壹種Out of的解釋，就是「某物用光了」或「某物沒有了」之意。

e.g.1. Out of paper.

例1：紙張用完了。

e.g.2. Out of money

例2：錢花完了。

2. Out of touch

Touch在此解釋為「聯系」，因此Out of touch則表示「失去聯系」。

e.g. We’ve been out of touch.

例：我們已經沒聯絡了。

3. Out of work

這就是「失業」或「被資遣」、「被解雇」的意思。

e.g. John is out of work.

例：John被解雇了。

4. Out of town

這個片語表示「出遠門」或「不在家」的意思。

e.g. I think he is out of town.

例：我覺得他應該是出遠門了吧。

5. Out of order

這組片語和Broken意思相同，皆表示「故障」、「壞掉」之意。

e.g. The printer is out of order.

例：這臺印表機壞了。

6. Out of character

這組片語表示「不符合某人作風」的意思。

e.g. It’s very out of character for her.

例：這不像她會做的事欸。

7. Out of practice

這組片語就是用來表示「某項技能生疏了」。

e.g. If you do not play , you will get out of practice.

例：如果妳不練習，久了妳就會生疏了。

8. Out of sorts

這就是「不太舒服」的意思。

e.g. I’ve been feeling tired and headachy and generally out of sorts.

例：我壹直感到疲勞和頭痛，整體來說有些不舒服。

9. Out of nowhere

這組片語即用來表示「突如其來的」、「出乎意料」之意。

e.g. It happened nowhere.

例：這件事發生得太突然了。
