When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the Powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them.
在有關人類事務的發展過程中，當壹個民族必須解除其和另壹個民族之間的政治聯系，並在世界各國之間依照自然法則和自然之造物主的意旨，接受獨立和平等的地位時。
